The headcount column of table (1) has a companion table in 5 従業員の状況等 on page 122, which prints employees at March 31, 2026 by segment: G&NS 12,300, 音楽 11,400, 映画 11,300, ET&S 33,100, I&SS 18,800, その他 1,600, 全社(共通) 6,400 and 合計 94,900, with its own note 1, 従業員数は百人未満を四捨五入して記載しています, rounding to the nearest hundred. Table (1) prints the game, entertainment technology and imaging segments as one line of 64,200, so among the segment lines only the 音楽 and 映画 figures, 11,400 and 11,300, appear as the same digits on both pages; both tables print the 合計 of 94,900. Note 2 to the page 122 table gives the report's account of the year's change: 2025年度末の従業員数は、金融事業のパーシャル・スピンオフにともなうSFGIの連結除外、ならびに、ET&S分野(国内)における構造改革及びI&SS分野(海外)における子会社持分の売却等により人員が減少した結果、前事業年度末に比べ、約17,400名減少し、約94,900名となりました, a decrease of about 17,400 to about 94,900, through the deconsolidation of SFGI on the spin-off, structural reform in the domestic ET&S business and the sale of subsidiary interests in the overseas I&SS business. The 108th report's table on page 14 read G&NS 12,100, 音楽 11,300, 映画 11,500, ET&S 36,700, I&SS 19,200, 金融 14,300, その他 1,700, 全社(共通) 5,500 and 合計 112,300. The filing company's row on page 122 reads 2,166 employees, average age 42.7, average service 16.0 years, average annual pay 11,550,986円 (US$70,519) and 3.3 in the column 平均年間給与の対前事業年度増減率(%), the rate of change in average annual pay on the prior year, a column the 108th report's page 14, as extracted, does not carry; that page printed 2,212 employees, 42.5, 15.8 and 11,183,744円 (US$68,277). Both years' notes read 平均年間給与は、賞与及び基準外賃金を含んでいます, average annual pay includes bonuses and non-standard wages.

当年度の設備投資額は、804,946百万円となりました — capital expenditure of US$4,914.2 million; and in the segment table four lines where the June 2025 table had five, the 金融 line of land 6,385 million yen (US$39.0 million), buildings 5,285 million yen (US$32.3 million), machinery and other assets 77,432 million yen (US$472.7 million), right-of-use assets 76,291 million yen (US$465.8 million) and 14,300 employees is not in the June 2026 tables, and the notes state that no balance for the financial business remains at March 31, 2026, after the partial spin-off of October 1, 2025.

Part 3, 設備の新設、除却等の計画, repeats the method sentence, 設備の新設・拡充の計画はセグメントごとの数値を開示する方法によっています, plans are disclosed as figures by segment, and prints a table for 2026年度(自2026年4月1日 至2027年3月31日) with three columns, セグメントの名称, segment, 設備投資計画金額(百万円), planned amount, and 設備等の主な内容・目的, main content and purpose. G&NS、ET&S及びI&SS: 509,000 million yen (US$3,107.4 million), イメージセンサーを中心とした生産設備投資等, production facility investment centred on image sensors. 音楽: 183,000 million yen (US$1,117.2 million), 音楽カタログに関する投資、IT関連設備投資等, investment in music catalogues and IT-related facilities. 映画: 47,000 million yen (US$286.9 million), 映画製作に関わる投資、IT関連設備投資等, investment related to film production and IT. その他及び全社(共通): 21,000 million yen (US$128.2 million), IT関連設備投資等. 合計: 760,000 million yen (US$4,639.8 million). Note 1 defines the amounts as expected additions to property, plant and equipment, right-of-use assets and intangible assets excluding deferred film production costs and television broadcasting rights within content assets; note 2 excludes business combinations; note 3 reads 上記の設備投資額の支払いは、主として自己資金により賄う予定です, payment is to be funded mainly from own funds. The paragraph below states 2026年度の設備投資計画金額は、主に音楽分野における音楽カタログに関する投資の減少により、前年度に比べ5.6%減少の約760,000百万円となる見通しです, a decrease of 5.6 percent on the prior year to about 760,000 million yen (US$4,639.8 million), mainly through lower investment in music catalogues; the rate is the report's. On disposals it expects 経常的な設備の更新のための除却及び売却, routine retirements and sales for the renewal of facilities. The part closes with the report's own caution that the plan rests on management's judgement from information available at the filing date, that actual investment 様々な重要な要素により、これら計画とは大きく異なる可能性があります, may differ greatly from the plan, and asks readers これらの設備投資計画のみに全面的に依拠することは控えるようお願いします, not to rely wholly on it.

The 108th report's plan table on page 63, for 2025年度, read G&NS、ET&S及びI&SS 563,000 million yen (US$3,437.1 million), 音楽 69,000 million yen (US$421.2 million), 映画 39,000 million yen (US$238.1 million), その他、全社(共通) 29,000 million yen (US$177.0 million) and 合計 700,000 million yen (US$4,273.5 million), with the same purposes in the right-hand column. Its paragraph explained that 上記の計画には金融事業の計画は含んでいません, the plan excluded the financial business, already classified as discontinued from the first quarter, and that 金融分野を除く2024年度の設備投資額は8,298億円となり、2025年度の設備投資計画金額は、前年度比15.6%減少し、約7,000億円となる見通しです, capital expenditure for fiscal 2024 excluding the financial segment was 829.8 billion yen (US$5,066 million) and the fiscal 2025 plan was a 15.6 percent decrease to about 700.0 billion yen (US$4,274 million), かかる減少の主な要因は、音楽分野における音楽カタログに関する投資の減少によるものです, mainly through lower investment in music catalogues. The 109th report's part 1 then prints what fiscal 2025 came to: 535,667 million yen (US$3,270.3 million) against the planned 563,000 million yen (US$3,437.1 million) for the three segments together, 195,350 million yen (US$1,192.6 million) against 69,000 million yen (US$421.2 million) for 音楽, 44,449 million yen (US$271.4 million) against 39,000 million yen (US$238.1 million) for 映画, 29,480 million yen (US$180.0 million) against 29,000 million yen (US$177.0 million) for other and corporate, and 804,946 million yen (US$4,914.2 million) against 700,000 million yen (US$4,273.5 million) in total; the plan and the outcome are printed in two reports with the same definition in their notes, and this piece sets them side by side without comment. The management analysis for the I&SS segment on page 40 states the segment's own line on investment: 当分野の設備投資については、第五次中期経営計画期間においては投資を厳選し、第四次中期経営計画比で減らしていく方向性には変わりはありません, in the fifth mid-range plan period the segment will be selective and the direction of reducing investment from the fourth plan is unchanged. The same page records that in 2026年5月 Sony Semiconductor Solutions signed a memorandum of understanding with TSMC, described on page 15 as 法的拘束力をともなわない, non-binding, under which a joint venture in which Sony holds a majority is to be considered for development and production lines using 熊本県合志市に完成したソニーの新工場, Sony's new plant completed in Koshi, Kumamoto; page 40 adds that financially the company 本提携を通じた生産設備投資負担の軽減や設備調達コストの軽減, expects a lighter production investment burden and lower equipment procurement costs through the alliance.

The outline's 804,946 million yen (US$4,914.2 million) is one of several measures of investment the report prints, each with its own definition. The cash-flow statement on page 135 prints 有形固定資産及びその他の無形資産の購入, purchases of property, plant and equipment and other intangible assets, as outflows marked △ of 620,985 million yen (US$3,791.1 million) for fiscal 2024 and 457,681 million yen (US$2,794.1 million) for fiscal 2025, and 有形固定資産及びその他の無形資産の売却 as inflows of 15,484 million yen (US$94.5 million) and 19,720 million yen (US$120.4 million); the operating section on page 134 prints コンテンツ資産の増加 as deductions marked △ of 683,388 million yen (US$4,172.1 million) and 665,894 million yen (US$4,065.3 million). The property, plant and equipment note on page 188 prints 取得 for fiscal 2025 of 349,271 million yen (US$2,132.3 million), of which 260,571 million yen (US$1,590.8 million) is 建設仮勘定, and the lease note on page 189 prints 新規リース契約及びリース負債の再測定にともなう増加, increases in right-of-use assets from new lease contracts and remeasurement of lease liabilities, of 84,255 million yen (US$514.4 million). Depreciation and amortisation, 減価償却費及び償却費(契約コストの償却を含む), is 1,125,588 million yen (US$6,871.7 million) and 1,180,655 million yen (US$7,207.9 million) on page 134, and the segment note on page 158 splits the latter: ゲーム&ネットワークサービス 147,476 million yen (US$900.3 million), 音楽 130,903 million yen (US$799.2 million), 映画 517,823 million yen (US$3,161.3 million), エンタテインメント・テクノロジー&サービス 103,077 million yen (US$629.3 million), イメージング&センシング・ソリューション 265,138 million yen (US$1,618.7 million), その他 3,946 million yen (US$24.1 million), 計 1,168,363 million yen (US$7,132.9 million), 全社(共通)及びセグメント間取引消去 12,292 million yen (US$75.0 million), 連結合計 1,180,655 million yen (US$7,207.9 million), listed as printed. The regional table on page 161 prints 非流動資産(有形固定資産、使用権資産、のれん、コンテンツ資産及びその他の無形資産) at March 31, 2025 and 2026: 日本 2,090,652 million yen (US$12,763.4 million) and 1,919,158 million yen (US$11,716.5 million), 米国 2,915,183 million yen (US$17,797.2 million) and 3,328,940 million yen (US$20,323.2 million), 欧州 989,679 million yen (US$6,042.0 million) and 1,119,027 million yen (US$6,831.7 million), 中国 27,372 million yen (US$167.1 million) and 29,899 million yen (US$182.5 million), アジア・太平洋地域 233,895 million yen (US$1,427.9 million) and 243,264 million yen (US$1,485.1 million), その他地域 207,545 million yen (US$1,267.1 million) and 229,961 million yen (US$1,403.9 million), 計 6,464,326 million yen (US$39,464.7 million) and 6,870,249 million yen (US$41,942.9 million), quoted as printed and not added by the desk. The capital expenditure of part 1, the purchases on the cash-flow statement and the additions in the notes are measures with different scopes; the desk quotes each and reconciles none.

Two more notes bear on what a 帳簿価額 in these tables is. The accounting policy on page 142 states that property, plant and equipment is carried under the cost model, 取得原価から減価償却累計額及び減損損失累計額を控除した価額, cost less accumulated depreciation and impairment, and depreciated 定額法, straight-line, over useful lives of 2年から50年 for buildings and structures and 2年から10年 for machinery and other property, plant and equipment; right-of-use assets are depreciated from the commencement date over the shorter of their useful life and the lease term, or over the useful life where ownership transfers or a purchase option is reasonably certain. 1,485 subsidiaries and 148 affiliates, of which 1,453 are consolidated and 132 equity-method; table (3) names nine domestic companies and table (4) has nine lines for seven overseas companies, three of the lines for Sony Corporation of America and one for each of six others, the ones the report selects as 主要, and the segment lines of table (1) are the figures that cover the rest. Page 8 also states that the related-company information, and 「第2 事業の状況」及び「第3 設備の状況」においても同様です, the business and facilities sections too, follow IFRS definitions.

Method. The desk located the two annual securities reports in the EDINET document-list API for June 18, 2026 and June 20, 2025, retrieved the PDFs through the same API, and read them with pdfplumber: the section 設備の状況 (pages 49 to 53 of the 109th report, 59 to 63 of the 108th), the five-year tables (pages 2 and 4), the history (page 6), 事業の内容 (page 8), 関係会社の状況 (page 11), the management policy (page 15), the risk section (page 22, and page 28 of the 108th), the management analysis (pages 34 and 40), 従業員の状況等 (page 122, and page 14 of the 108th), the statement of financial position (page 126), the cash-flow statement (pages 134 and 135), accounting policies (pages 142 and 143), the segment and regional notes (pages 158 and 161), the property, plant and equipment and lease notes (pages 188 and 189), the content-asset note (page 193), the impairment note (page 196), the financing reconciliation (page 243) and subsequent events (page 254). The facility, plan, balance-sheet and note tables were read with extract_tables and each column matched to its printed heading; where a cell prints a dash or (0) it is quoted so. Every amount is the printed one in the unit the report uses, millions of yen in the tables and notes, 億円 where the prose is quoted, yen for annual pay and US dollars for the subsequent-event transaction; every area is the printed thousands of square metres; every headcount is the printed figure, rounded to the nearest hundred in tables (1), (3) and (4) under their note 2 and in the segment table on page 122 under its note 1, while table (2) prints 1,603 and 563 and the company rows on page 122 print 2,166 and 9,265 with no such note; and every rate of change is one the report prints; the two sum checks described above confirmed printed figures and produced no new number, and the US dollar figures are conversions at ¥163.8 = US$1 for reference only. Statements that a line or column appears in one year's table and not the other's describe the tables as extracted.

What would change our mind

The sixteen named companies in tables (3) and (4), nine domestic and seven overseas, and the two lines of table (2) are the facilities the report selects as 主要な設備; the group has 1,453 consolidated subsidiaries by page 8, and the segment lines of table (1) cover what the named lines do not, so nothing here treats the named lines as a breakdown of the 合計. The column 機械装置・その他の資産 is defined by note 1 to include コンテンツ資産 and その他の無形資産 as well as machinery, so a figure in it, including the 1,706,233 million yen (US$10,416.6 million) on the Sony Corporation of America music line and the 481,520 million yen (US$2,939.7 million) on the Sony Semiconductor Manufacturing line, is not a figure for machinery; the desk's check that four printed balance-sheet and note figures agree with the column's printed 合計 confirmed the definition and produced no new number, as did the check of 1,603 and 563 against 2,166. Headcounts in tables (1), (3) and (4) are rounded to the nearest hundred as each table's note 2 states, while table (2) prints 1,603 and 563 with no such note, and the figures for the companies named in note 3 to tables (3) and (4) are consolidated, so a line's headcount is not a count at the address printed. The 804,946 million yen (US$4,914.2 million) of part 1 includes right-of-use assets and intangible assets other than film costs and broadcasting rights and excludes business combinations; the cash-flow statement's 457,681 million yen (US$2,794.1 million) and the notes' 349,271 million yen (US$2,132.3 million) and 84,255 million yen (US$514.4 million) are different measures that the desk does not reconcile, and the 5.6 percent and 15.6 percent decreases are the reports' own rates, not tested here. The land gain of 439億円 (US$268 million), the right-of-use assets of 95,938 million yen (US$585.7 million) and the parent table's new 使用権資産 column are facts on separate pages; the report does not connect them on the pages read, and this piece draws no line between them. The 760,000 million yen (US$4,639.8 million) plan is a forward-looking figure as of the filing date with the report's own caution attached, and the May 2026 catalogue agreement and TSMC memorandum are, as the report states, subject to approvals and non-binding respectively; whether either proceeded is not in the pages read. Statements that a line or column appears in one table and not the other describe the tables as extracted, and an omission may reflect the extraction rather than the report.
