We collect one thing, for one purpose, and you can end it in one click. The rest of this page explains that in the language the regulators prefer.
The controller of your data is ZUZU Inc. (株式会社ZUZU), a company registered in Japan, which publishes Japan Stock Files. The publication itself is unsigned; the publisher is not. For anything on this page, write to [email protected].
We do not ask for your name, your employer, your portfolio, or anything about your finances, and you should not send them to us.
To send you the publication you asked for, and nothing else. Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you, our lawful basis is your consent, given when you submit the form or send the subscription email; you may withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing it does not affect anything we sent you before you did.
Our email delivery provider stores the list and sends the messages on our behalf, under a data-processing agreement, and may process it outside Japan — including in the United States — under the safeguards required by applicable law. Our host serves the pages and keeps short-lived request logs. That is the complete list; if it changes, this page changes with it.
This site sets no cookies at all and runs no third-party tracking scripts. There is no advertising network here and nothing that follows you to another site.
We count, and we should be precise about how, because the previous version of this page was not. This site is served through a content delivery network, and that network counts requests on its own side: how many times a page was asked for, roughly which country asked, and which site or assistant sent the request. That is server-side log data. It reaches us as totals.
There is no analytics script on this site — no beacon, no tag, no third-party counter, and no cookies of any kind. Nothing runs in your browser to watch you, because nothing needs to. An earlier version of this page said we had switched on a cookieless in-page counter; we had announced it but never installed it, and the sentence stood for two days describing something that was not there. It has been corrected, and the correction is logged with the others.
What none of this tells us is who you are. We want to know whether a growing share of readers arrive by way of an AI assistant rather than a search box, and the referrer on a request answers that without identifying anybody. If we ever add anything that runs in your browser, this paragraph will say so before it does, and we will date it.
Until you unsubscribe, or until an address has been undeliverable long enough that keeping it serves nobody. When you unsubscribe we delete the address, retaining only what is necessary to avoid mailing you again by accident.
You may ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to stop, or object to our processing of it. Write to [email protected] and we will answer within 30 days. Every email we send also carries a one-click unsubscribe link, which is faster than we are.
If you are in the EU or the UK and think we have handled this badly, you may complain to your national data protection authority. We would rather you told us first.
This publication is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
